Black Watch Plaid

Happy Tuesday Lovelies!

It seems that the transition from Summer to Fall is the biggest, most abrupt and drastic of all the seasonal changes at least here in New England. Fall to Winter, Winter to Spring, and Spring to Summer just seem a bit more gradual, easing into a different wardrobe. Two weeks ago I was wearing Maxi dresses and denim vests as it was in the upper 80s and now I am in full Autumn mode. Boots, leather jackets and layers. The colors have gone from light and vibrant to dark and muted, while patterns have shifted to Autumn staples such as plaid.  I have quite a few plaid flannels because they are so versatile. They work as a top, or an added layer. You can dress them up or down making them the quintessential, perfect staple to any Fall wardrobe.

On a mild Autumn day in New England style it with a denim skirt and black boots.  Only a few more weeks and tights would be a must for this look.

What I wore:
Top splurge & save  / Skirt c/o / Boots / Hat / Bag

What is on the forefront of my brain is today my baby's 10th birthday! I know I was shocked last week when I was writing about my 40th, but this to me is so much crazier. Ten years have gone by so fast, with a blink of an eye. I remember being told to enjoy every minute because it goes by so fast. I now understand.  He is such a joy and has turned into such a wonderful little boy.  So smart, mature, wise beyond his years yet so quick witted and silly.
Ugh love my little man so much!

  2. Aww Happy birthday to your little man, Elise! I agree this is a hard season to dress for. Yesterday on the blog, I showed a dark colored denim skirt paired with a light blue eyelet off-shoulder top and olive wedge sandals. I love your more Fall-ish take of your look with the monochrome look and I even have a similar top and hat to re-create it on my own. =)

    Happy Tuesday babe!
