Sometimes around the holidays so many of our outfits revolve around sequins and sparkle

 (see earlier post from this week), paying little to no attention to shine. When I saw these Alice and Olivia trousers I immediately fell in love.  The jewel toned material felt and looked luxurious.  I have worn them countless times and styled them differently each time.  Dressed up or down, they are definitely a statement piece.  

Now onto a resolution or four...
I hate making promises I can't keep. Resolutions are exactly that for me, promises to myself that I can not (or do not) keep, so I will keep them brief.  Instead of the the regular 'I will read more, work out more, be more present, blah blah blah'...

1. I will take care of myself this year. PERIOD.
Physically and mentally.

2. Other than my son of course, I will not live my life to make anyone else happy.  What is good for some people may not be good for others. I will do what is good for me.

3.  I will not fear judgement from others because they are unhappy with themselves.

4. I will try my hardest to not engage in gossip or talking negatively about myself or others
Last year I adopted the old adage 'If it doesn't involve me, it doesn't concern me' and truly it has made me a happier person.

Good Morning!!  It's almost NYE!  What are you doing?  More importantly, what are you wearing?  I am not sure of my plans yet, but what I am sure of is that regardless what I do, I can wear these adorable joggers.  To a cocktail party with heels, low key hang with friends with booties, or possibly an evening snuggle sesh and movie, these can be dressed up or down.  Last year I had my eye on a pair of Free People sequined joggers. I coveted them... needed them, so when I saw these at Target (girls department) for $19.99 it was a no brainer.

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas and are planning an amazing NYE!

Good Morning!  Can you believe that Christmas is this week?  I can't!  More importantly, I can't believe that I have almost finished my shopping.   Some are saying it doesn't feel like Christmas because of the unseasonably high temps we are having... I'll take it!  Here in the Northeast we are set for having the warmest December on record, and being the warm weather lover I am, I could not be happier.  

I have thrown away all preconceived ideas and fashion rules about what to wear around the holidays.  I have not been staying away from open toed shoes or feeling insecure about wearing bare legs. If it is above 60 all bets are off.

White Trash/ Christmas Crack

When I first began working at my place of employment 15 years ago one of my co-workers who is now a close friend introduced me to this delicious, super easy holiday confection. SO easy even I can make it! It has been called White Trash (because of all the ingredients and white chocolate), or Christmas Crack (because of how addictive it is), but you can find a more appropriate name and call it whatever you like. 

What you'll need:

Check cereal

Plain Cherios

Pretzles

Chocolate Chips

M&Ms (we like plain, peanut butter and peanut)

Wax Paper

White Chocolate Melts

Layer the ingredients  on a long piece of paper. With freshly washed hands, and gloves ;), mix the dry mix.  You can melt the white chocolate in a double boiler, or in the microwave on the defrost setting.

once completely melted pour of the dry mix, using your hands to spread and cover all dry ingredients with the chocolate.  Once the chocolate hardens, break it apart, bag it or throw it in a bowl as a party mix.  Makes a wonderful and cheap gift for teachers and or coworkers. 

Hello Dolls!!  Only 8 more shopping days before Christmas!! I love jumpsuits and rompers, and when I was Christmas shopping and saw this one from Madewell I had to have it.  It is perfect for any holiday event, and not only is the color festive, it is completely on trend. So many different ways it could be styled, but this time I chose to be simple and classic.

Morning Dolls!  I love me some plaid!!  It is safe to say plaid is a staple of fall for sure, but as we move into the Christmas Season we see more tartan and buffalo check.  I am obsessed with this buffalo check flannel. I have worn it so many times this season, I think people are beginning to notice. Over tanks, under sweaters, wrapped around my waist, dressed up, and dressed down... I love it! It's warm, it's cozy and it was perfect for this raw, drizzly day.

 I love this song, and pretty much any version of it.  The 'fall on your knees' part kills me!

Because I love the message, and I love Stevie's voice! The new Apple commercial where he sings this with Andra Day is phenomenal.

  Where Are You Christmas?

She asks the question 'Where are you Christmas?' A weird question.  Is she asking where the spirit of Christmas is, or because it was the theme song from The Grinch Who Stole Christmas, is she LITERALLY asking where Christmas is?  

I could watch and listen to Faith Hill do and sing anything.
