White Lace

Good morning Lovelies!
Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.
I had a very interesting conversation with my sister over the weekend. After having her daughter in the hospital for weeks and still very much having to deal with the aftermath of her illness she asked if I thought she and her family have had to endure more than most. I immediately and almost emphatically answered 'no!'. While she and her family have had a ton to deal with over the years, what I reminded her is that everyone has their things, it is how we handle and learn from each and every experience. She agreed, then asked the question, why do some people learn and others continue to make the same mistakes over and over almost refusing to learn the lesson. To that I have no answer. I believe most people rise to the occasion when a monkey wrench is thrown in their plans and things don't go as intended, and maybe when we see others continuing to create chaos and not learn, it is those around them that are learning the lesson. I have found that when things happen and you need people, you truly find out who your friends are. That being said, instead of getting angry at people who may not show up when you need them, self reflect and ask yourself if maybe you have not been there when others have needed you. Whether you are dealing with a child who is sick or has special needs, a divorce, a cheating spouse, a miscarriage, substance abuse or mental health issues, money turmoil, etc, what we need to remind ourselves is that everyone has something going on and we never know what anyone else is dealing with on a day to day basis.
Onto this look, white is the color of purity and means kindness. This time of year I find myself
so drawn to white in any form, pants, a dress or in this case a gorgeous
white lace top. White is believed to help clear clutter and obstacles,
start fresh beginnings, bring about mental clarity and purification of
thoughts, so it seems fitting to want to be cloaked in white during
Spring and Summer.
xx, Elise

That is a beautiful lace top. But I am loving most the fact that you accessorized to add pops of red to this look! Your shoes are FAB!

I love the pretty neckline on this top!
ReplyDeleteI'm loving the sleeveless lace, babe! And I agree- rather than jumping to conclusions or getting angry when someone isn't there, self-reflection about how YOU can be better when faced with those same situations is such a self-enlightened approach. :)

ReplyDeleteWhat a great reminder. Some situations are worse than others to deal with, and I completely agree that it's how we handle and learn from them that matter. I love this lace top on you and the pop of red is just perfect. Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteLove this so much, never really thought about why some people aren't there for you might be because you weren't there for them when they needed you...so true. Must remember this continuing forward. Love this outfit, that lace top is so pretty, paired with the pop of red, perfection.

I love what you said. It's so true. I think too, a lot of people don't want to open up about certain trials they are going through for whatever reason and you might not even know what someone is going through. Love this look and am all about white jeans and clothes too.

I loved reading this post. I think when we have bad things happen, we can choose one of two paths. I try to choose the path that is more positive and learn from the experience, no matter how hard then use that knowledge for good in the future. You look stunning in that top by the way!
ReplyDeleteGreat post and I love your white top!!

First of all, what a beautiful deep post. You made me reflect on what I can do better for myself and especially for others, how I can be there more, how can I be more kind and more fair. I hope your sister has to deal with less and less through the years and keeps up her positive spirit.
ReplyDeleteOn an unrelated note, about this outfit, it is truly gorgeous. I love that top and all the pops of red. As I am currently typing this I am also wearing red, white and blue with a pop of leopard, too. =)
That is a gorgeous white lace top! The use of red accessories make beautiful pairing!

Love your lace top!! I also love your thought provoking post. Self reflection is so important. It's also, like you said, so important to realize that everyone has circumstances they have to deal with, you should always see the other side. I really feel for your sister, it is so hard having a sick child, I hope her daughters illness improves soon!
