Good Morning Dolls!

I am still in Miami and guys, I am having a blast!
During the Summer months I love dresses, especially white high low and black high low dresses. Zaful has an amazing collection, definitely check them out. When I am not wearing dresses, I my go to are rompers and jumpsuits.

I am so excited to share with you my Zaful Romper Wish list!!

When you live in an area that is colder more months out of the year somethings happens and you get seasonal amnesia. By this I mean, you may live in the same region almost your entire life, but when the cold hits you forget it ever having been that cold, well the same goes for the heat.

A few weeks back we had a blizzard, the days following were in the 60s and 70s and then BAM mid eights! We don't really have a solid Spring here, it goes from Winter to Summer so quickly, quite literally sweaters and boots to sundresses and sandals. For months as I have read other blogs and flipped through fashion magazines, planning my Spring wardrobe with jackets, light weight knits and open toed booties...and then the mid 80s happened. Granted by August and I going to feel relieved when it is in the mid 80s, but right now an 80 degree day following a 40 degree day makes me feel like I am melting. Believe me, I am not complaining, I LOVE the heat! I simply forget what it feels like at the beginning of every Summer, and those super cute jeans and spring layers I loved so much are getting tossed aside for the lightest weight fabrics in sundresses and rompers.

If you are an avid S&S reader you know my love affair with jumpsuits and rompers runs deep. They are so easy and look so fabulous and in the Summer heat, there is nothing more comfy. Perfect to lounge around the house in or throw on some platform sandals and go to dinner.

Travel in Comfort

Happy Thursday Dolls!

I am currently on vacation in Miami and hopefully as you are reading this I am catching some vitamin D and sipping on something frosty.

I absolutely love to get dressed and look polished, but sometimes I need to be comfortable.

There are two occasions when I absolutely need to be comfy, the first is when I shop. I love to marathon shop, so I need to be as comfy as possible, sensible shoes are a must. Often times even when I dress appropriately for a shopping excursion, my feet still hurt at the end of the day.

The second occasion is when I travel. I don't love to fly and aside from the usual worries and fears most people have about flying, I feel claustrophobic and hate that I can't move around much. If I am going to be strapped in for a long period of time, I have to be wearing clothes where I do not feel restricted. As you know a few weeks back people got removed from a United flight for wearing leggings. Granted they were traveling under an employee travel pass that includes a dress code, but they were just teens trying to travel in comfort.

Comfort Travel Tips:

1. Wear something you can move in

I find leggings, a cotton maxi dress, skirt or jumpsuit to be the most comfortable to travel. Comfy and non restricting.

2. Easily removable shoes

Flip flops (if you are traveling someplace warm), slip on sneakers, or Uggs. Maybe not the most fashionable, but for sure the easiest to slip on and off in the security line.

3. Layers

It is a must to wear layers on a plane. You never know if it is going to be warm or cool, or perhaps the passenger next to you loves the above air blower, you should always be prepared.

and finally my favorite travel tip...

4. The neck pillow

I am not sure when the first time I used a neck pillow, but I remember thinking it was a travel game changer. Perhaps it was in my twenties with all my travel back and forth to the West Coast and having fallen asleep on many a stranger's shoulders, I am not sure, but I haven't traveled without one in a decade. They gently cradle you neck and head assuring a comfortable rest and no neck pain when you wake up.

White Lace

Good morning Lovelies!

Hope you all had a wonderful weekend.

I had a very interesting conversation with my sister over the weekend. After having her daughter in the hospital for weeks and still very much having to deal with the aftermath of her illness she asked if I thought she and her family have had to endure more than most. I immediately and almost emphatically answered 'no!'. While she and her family have had a ton to deal with over the years, what I reminded her is that everyone has their things, it is how we handle and learn from each and every experience. She agreed, then asked the question, why do some people learn and others continue to make the same mistakes over and over almost refusing to learn the lesson. To that I have no answer. I believe most people rise to the occasion when a monkey wrench is thrown in their plans and things don't go as intended, and maybe when we see others continuing to create chaos and not learn, it is those around them that are learning the lesson. I have found that when things happen and you need people, you truly find out who your friends are. That being said, instead of getting angry at people who may not show up when you need them, self reflect and ask yourself if maybe you have not been there when others have needed you. Whether you are dealing with a child who is sick or has special needs, a divorce, a cheating spouse, a miscarriage, substance abuse or mental health issues, money turmoil, etc, what we need to remind ourselves is that everyone has something going on and we never know what anyone else is dealing with on a day to day basis.

Onto this look, white is the color of purity and means kindness. This time of year I find myself so drawn to white in any form, pants, a dress or in this case a gorgeous white lace top. White is believed to help clear clutter and obstacles, start fresh beginnings, bring about mental clarity and purification of thoughts, so it seems fitting to want to be cloaked in white during Spring and Summer.
