Good Morning Loves!

Maybe it is because March begins tomorrow, perhaps it is because we have had a super mild winter and the temps are getting higher, but most likely it is because my vacation to FL has been booked and all I can think about is sandals, sundresses and swimsuits! 

I still have not shopped for anything for myself since the beginning of the year mostly because as previously stated, I will not purchased anything that has to do with winter and I am underwhelmed with late winter clothing. I am gearing up to buy a vacation / Spring / Summer wardrobe.  

While in the Fall I always look forward to layering and being cozy by this time in the year, the novelty has worn off and pastels and light weight dresses are on the brain.

Good morning Loves, 

I hope you are all having an amazing week! 

The weather has been unreal in the northeast, in the 70s the past two days.  Today is supposed to be colder and possibly snow, New England weather. It has been so lovely having the windows and sunroof open, seeing and hearing kids playing outside and feeling warm even if it is just a tease. I do realize we are not even close to this kind of weather consistently, but it has been such a wonderful 

re-charger. 

Shearling is and had always been a favorite of mine. It is so warm, cozy and timeless. 

I have been loving these over sized shearling jackets, it is like wearing a blanket.

I am off today and tomorrow from work, taking an extended weekend.

Good Morning Loves! 

I hope you all had a lovely weekend and Presidents Day.  I took a mini road trip to Mystic, CT this weekend to meet up with one of my besties, Lindsay. She lives in NJ and I do not get to see her nearly enough as I would like.  She was heading up to Mystic with her mom and 5 yo old son to go to the Aquarium. Although Mystic is two states away, it only takes and hour and a half to get their and we could not pass up the opportunity to see them.  After seeing the Julie Roberts movie Mystic Pizza countless times as a child, I felt like I already knew so much about the sleepy town by the sea, I couldn't have imagined I would fall in love with it like I did. I wish I took photos of the quaint downtown area, filled with boutiques and amazing restaurants.  The only thing I seemed to snap a shot of was, of course the real Mystic Pizza. We had an amazing dinner at a place called Bravo, Bravo on East Main, where I got a scrum-didli-umptious carbonara, which is my fave!  

The weather was super mild, perfect for walking around the out door Aquarium and down town.  I often find when I will be doing a lot of walking and site seeing I keep it simple. What is more simple than an all black look with sensible statement  booties?

Happy Thursday Loves! 

It is February 15th do you know what that means? It means we are officially more than half way through February! I seriously can't complain, it has been super mild in fact it is supposed to be in the 60's today!  Not only was yesterday Valentines Day, but it was also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent. This year I am going to be giving up peanut butter. Some of you may be thinking, 'so what, no big deal', but if you know me, you will know it is a tremendous deal. Every morning I eat two rice cakes with peanut butter. It seems that over the past year, my hand has gotten heavy while distributing this delicious heavenly spread and I probably consume six servings of peanut butter every morning. 

I am not just cutting back, I will cutting it out... for at least the duration of Lent.

Does anyone have any healthy breakfast suggestions? 

Statement coats have been front and center this winter and I am loving it!

 I have had this strawberry pattern Dolce and Gabbana coat since the mid 90s, how fabulous, right? It hasn't really seen the outside of my closet since my club girl days but if there was ever a time for this coat to reemerge, it is now.

Happy Tuesday! 

Who says you need to wear pink and red for all Valentine festivities? 

This weekend the weather was super mild and I was able to wear this fun blue dress for a lovely lunch.

In honor of Valentines Day, here are 14 things I love (in no particular order)!

🖤 Pink peonies. Fresh flowers are so beautiful and peonies are my favorite.

🖤 My little boy.  I mean obviously this goes without saying, but almost everything he does brings a smile to my face. I am one lucky mama! 

🖤 French fries.  Love really doesn't fully encompass my feelings towards fries, obsession is better suited. Real fries, none of this sweet potato BS. I actually had them served in cones as a passed

 hors d'oeuvre at my wedding.

🖤 Friends reruns. One of my besties, Lindsay and I have a theory that every thing in life can somehow be related to a Friends episode.  Every time I hear 'With or Without you' by U2, I screen shot it and send it to her, because DUH, Ross and Rachel!  Every Thursday night we would convene in Lindsay's room drink wine and watch Friends.  It's our thing, we love it! 

🖤 Black raspberry ice cream with chocolate sprinkles in a sugar cone, please!! 

🖤 Summer, the ocean and sun. Everyone who reads this blog knows these three things are what make me the happiest. 

🖤 My black leather jacket.  I have had quite a few, and I have been in love with all of them. They really are a part of my uniform. 

🖤 Spring day light savings (March 11th this year), it should be a holiday! 

🖤 Clue the movie. It is amazing and Madeline Kahn kills me! 

🖤 My family.  We are all completely nutty but hysterical (if I do say so myself)

🖤 Sappy rom /coms despite the fact I am the least romantic person ever! 

 Red velvet anything... seriously... anything.

🖤  Romeo and Juliet the ballet. I have always loved the story, but some times I feel the words get in the way.  No better story to be told with just movement set to the most beautiful music by Prokofiev. 

If you have never seen it, do yourself a favor. 

🖤 My fur baby, Chloe. At 13 she is still such a love bug... except if there is food around, then all bets are off and she will bite your face off. ;)

Happy Thursday! 

As most of you know, I loathe winter.  As soon as new years day comes I am ready for Spring.  I long for the warmth and some sun. I have been trying to plan a getaway in April to FL.  We are trying for Naples or Sarasota on the east coast, or West Palm or Jupiter on the west coast, but jeeze the airfare is astronomical.  I am not giving up, I need a reprieve. 

I do love the little things to look forward to though, Riverdale season 2,

 Presidents day sales and of course next week is Valentine's Day.  As previously stated, I 

have never been one for huge Valentine's Day celebrations,  if you love someone you should let them know every day. I like to keep it subtle and this shirt dress with tiny hearts keeps it pretty subtle.
