Happy Tuesday Loves!
I am still suffering from an emotional hangover from Super Bowl Sunday. Between the Patriots loss and Jack dying on the special This is Us following the game, I am a mess. Truth be told I should have taken a bereavement day. The writers for that show are seriously trying to kill me!
One of my resolutions for the new year was a January shopping ban.
Although I would love to pat myself on the back, it was far easier than I thought it would be.
I haven't seen anything I am dying to have, we won't see Spring for at least another two months and I refuse to purchase anything else for winter. Not shopping has made me look deeper into and shop my own closet and reinvent pieces. This Dior mini saddle bag has not seen the light of day since 2002. Inspired by Rachael from Threads for Thomas, I dug mine out and attached a long chain to bring it more up to date as a cross body.

ReplyDeleteI'm still nursing an emotional hangover from This is Us too, cue all the emotions! I've been shopping my closet more lately too, and I love finding older pieces that can be re-worked differently for a fresh new look. LOVE those boots girlie <3

I love pulling out old pieces and making them new again! That bag is fabulous with your outfit!
ReplyDeleteA bereavement day would have definitely warranted that episode! I love shopping in my closet. This top is so pretty! Sierra~Beautifully Candid
ReplyDeleteHow cute! I love that you added the crossbody to bring it into 2018! The superbowl was tons of emotions and all the crazy things!

Wow I Love this, and love the look you created! I definitely relate on the not dying to shop for anything nor wanting anymore winter clothes. The scenery is also beautiful!

I like the idea of shopping my own closet, less wastage and more storage space. I like your grey jumper, looks warm and the style is nice.

Love your grey knit, it looks so cosy! And I'm a big fan of swapping out chains on bags, I'm sure I'll be doing it a lot this year! :)
ReplyDeleteIt's great you're doing well with your no shop challenge too! I managed not to shop January without thinking about it, even though I'm not trying to replicate my 7 months without shopping from last year I am not feeling the urge to shop.
Hope you're having a good start to your week. I'm busy, but not as much as last week, so that's nice! :)

I'm trying to do the same with reduced-shopping right now. Although I do think the President's Day Sales coming up will get me to cave! I don't feel like buying any more winter stuff and I don't feel like dressing for Spring (even though it's pretty warm here). So there's not a lot that seems worth it right now. Love your outfit here and what a great idea to re-purpose your bag!

I haven't been able to watch This Is Us because everyone talks about how sad it is! I'm like I can't handle that emotional roller coaster lol! I wish I was doing as well as you with a shopping ban!

Yeay for a shopping ban. Same here, I sure don't need ONE thing. Love love the crossbody bag, that you dug it out and wore it. It is a designer keeper for sure!
ReplyDeleteAwesome bag! I have seen these way back ago on consignment and how cool are they to have! The style is so different and love the compact size. I haven't seen the new episode of This Is Us yet because I am trying to catch up on the Bachelor! But I fear that. New season would start before we get through it. Every time we turn on the TV my son wants to get in to watch his show or if that doesn't happen, he likes to jump on and off on the hubs and I! So we miss a lot of the deets anyway! Bah! Lol 😂 I hope you are having a great week!
