Happy Friday Eve!
I have never been one to care about what others think of me.
After all,
“Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” — Marcus Aurelius
Isn't it so true?
Make no mistake, I obviously want to be liked , but I try to pay no mind to people who are catty, judgmental and have an uniformed or misguided opinion of me.
So if I told you I had a little but of social anxiety, you may be surprised. When I tell people, they do not believe me, so perhaps I am pulling it off? In my twenties I would boldly walk into a party and make my rounds without ever second guessing myself or being insecure, but for some odd reason as I have gotten older, awkward moments and silence give me anxiety.
In this new year I have decided, not as a resolution, but as a goal, I am going to step out of my comfort zone and so far it is working wonderfully!
I am saying yes to invitations that would normally say no to & showing up to places by myself.
The teddy coat has been a fun trend for a few years, but this year it is EVERYWHERE!
I have a few, but none that are as warm and cozy as this one, I feel like I am wearing a bathrobe.
Much like I am enveloped in a teddy bear, a security teddy bear, perfect for the above mentioned awkward interactions!
What are some of your insecurities or anxieties?
xx, Elise
I feel like the countdown to Christmas has been forever,
but we are in the final stretch!
These past few days I have felt like a lunatic, much like many of you I am sure.
Making sure everyone from family, friends, coworkers, teachers and bus drivers are covered in the gift department, I think I am finally done... almost.
Because Thanksgiving was early this year, the Christmas season seemed longer with more parties and get togethers. Two of my favorite pieces I have worn on repeat are these Leith trousers and this plaid Loft cape. I bought these trousers in a few different colors and they truly work for all occasions.
This plaid loft piece can works a scarf, wrap, or cape... and my favorite part? The arm holes.
The cutest, right?
Any fun plans this weekend?
I will be wrapping and attending a few small parties.
I am off until January 2, so I plan to take a vacation from the blog as well.
Merry, Merry & Happy New Year!!
See you in 2019!
xx, Elise
Can you believe it is already October?
The weather was absolutely phenomenal this past weekend, upper 60s to mid 70s, sunny, crisp and not a drop of humidity. We took Nolan shopping for his birthday which is on Thursday, enjoyed the sun at his football game and on Sunday my family walked in the Charity walk Paces for Faces.
Like many of you, I love handbags. While I love totes and shoulder bags and they do serve their purpose, recently I have been into hands free bags. The cross body has been a life & shoulder saver for a few years now, but what I am really obsessed with is the return of the fanny pack. Introduced in the 80s, they came in vogue in the 90s, but truth be told, I was never a fan. However in 2018 fashion houses like Gucci, Prada and Louis Vuitton reintroduced these belted satchels and it has caught on like wildfire. Whether you call it a fanny pack, bum bag, or belt satchel, this style is popping up everywhere and now offered in a variety of price points.
Here are a few of my faves!
What are your thoughts on the bum bag?

Happy Tuesday!!
Tomorrow is my birthday and I celebrated all weekend long!
Saturday night I went to Babbo in the Boston Seaport for some delicious carbonara then onto Mastro's to have their famous butter cake...guys, you have no idea. If you find yourself in Boston, it is a must! On Sunday my mom made braciolettini for me and my sister's birthday celebration.
Braciolettini is our absolute favorite, we get them once a year because it takes my mom forever to slice and make over a hundred braciolettini.
It was the first weekend of Fall, and Mother nature definitely got the memo.
The nights have been in the low fifties, which is perfect for sleeping and the past few days it hasn't gotten out of the 60s.
Light sweaters, jackets and scarfs are a must.

There is truly nothing I love more than a cozy, over sized off the shoulder sweater and I just loved the soft pastel color of this one.

Happy Thursday!!
Who is excited about the weekend? I am!
My Birthday is next week and I am kicking Hoff the celebration this weekend. Dinner in the city with my bestie on Saturday night and a family party on Sunday to celebrate both mine and my sister's birthdays.
Not too long ago, I claimed I couldn't wear yellow... I have decided I have changed my mind. When I saw this kimono at Bloomingdales, I was immediately drawn to it, but I didn't buy it. There was only one left, so I thought it about it for a few days, figured if I went back and it was still there, it was meant to be. Do you ever do that? As fate would have it, when I went back not only was it there, it was ON SALE!! Another item I have worn so many times, it is such a versatile piece!
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!!
xx, Elise
