Happy Thursday!
Can you believe it's May? We made it!
Before I left for FL we had not seen temps out of the 40s, everything was greay and not a single flower had popped up. We returned to mid 60s and now BAM, almost 90 and everything is colorful and blooming. Per usual, Spring had it's fifteen minutes and we have moved right on to Summer temps, and I could not be happier!
Only two days until Cinco de Mayo!
The date is observed to commemorate the Mexican Army's difficult victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla, on May 5, 1862, under the leadership of General Ignacio Zaragoza. While in Mexico the date is celebrated through ceremonies and military parades, in the United States it is more a celebration of Mexican/American culture with lots of partying. I always like to dress festive and head out with friends for some excellent food and drink and my celebration starts tonight after dance class. We are heading out to Cielo' for jalapeño margaritas and queso fundido, YUM!
Do you celebrate Cinco de Mayo?
I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!
xx, Elise
