I have lived in a few places in my life, but the majority of time spent has been in Boston.  It is like I have amnesia from Winter to Winter.  I know that I have experienced extreme cold, but every year it is like it is happening for the first time.  This year I have felt a little spoiled because the end of Autumn through the Holidays it was unseasonably mild.  I loved it!  It is no secret I despise the cold weather... actually loath.  My favorite saying is the best thing about Winter is when it is over.  For the past two weeks it has been absolutely frigid, teetering between -2 and about 18 degrees.  To be honest once it gets below 30, it is just cold and I can not tell the difference.  For years I rebelled, didn't wear a winter coat or seasonably appropriate clothes, shoes, accessories, etc. I refused to look bulky and unattractive, but alas, as I have gotten older I want to be fashionable still, but comfy and warm.

Wet

A few short weeks ago, a friend of mine introduced me to the band Wet.  I was quite a bit hesitant to take a listen as my friend is related to one of the members of the band, and I am a bit of a music snob.  From the minute the first note came across his iphone, I knew I was going to love this band.  I immediately downloaded anything I could from itunes and I haven't been able to listen to much else since.

They hail from Brooklyn, NY and I believe it is only a matter of time before everyone has heard of them.

I love New York!  I truly do! Being a Bostonian I have been to NYC countless times, with my family, for auditions, and in recent years to visit a slew of friends that have ended up there.   My 8 year old son caught wind that New York had a Toys R US with a ferris wheel,  AND an M&M store.  That was all he needed to know to start begging to go. So after the holidays, while he was still on school break we decided to take a short road trip to the city so he could experience it for himself. Every time it is a new and different experience, and this time was no different, it was like seeing it all for the first time through the eyes of my son!

Yeah he was!!

So the Holidays are over and usually this is when my winter blues set in. One of two resolutions for the New Year was to not make resolutions and promises to myself  that I can not keep, the other was to not wish my life away looking forward to nicer weather, vacations, etc, and really just be present in the moment and really enjoy what is currently going on in my life. The past few days although wet, were very mild, and perfect for meandering around NYC.  I have found spring colors and winter whites help fight the depressing grey winter months.
