Happy Tuesday!
So if you are anything like me right after the holidays you are ready for Spring...and by ready for Spring, I mean totally over Winter. Yes, I know it has only been Winter for about a month, but I am ready for warmer temps, longer days, sunshine and less layers.  After waking up to a few inches of snow on the ground today I realized I have a long road of Winter ahead of me.  It just seems January - March is the hardest, BUT  I will plan a winter trip, pin beautiful warm destinations, wear Spring pastels, and hopefully make it through the remainder of the winter not wishing too much of my life away.

Good morning Lovelies! The season 2 premiere of Younger on TV land airs tonight! 

If you aren't familiar with this show, It is a must see! 

TV Land's original show "Younger," stars Sutton Foster, Hilary Duff, Debi Mazar and Miriam Shor.  The show which is written, executive produced and directed by Darren Star from “Sex and the City,” is based on the novel "Younger" by Pamela Redmond Satran. Patricia Field, who worked with Star on "Sex and the City," is the costume consultant on the production. "Younger" follows 40-year-old Liza (Foster), a divorced mother who tries to get back into the working world, only to find out it's nearly impossible to start from the bottom at her age. When a chance encounter with a 20-something guy at a bar convinces her she looks younger than she is, Liza tries to pass herself off as 26 -- with the help of a makeover, courtesy of her best friend Maggie (Mazar). Armed with new confidence, she lands a job as an assistant to the temperamental Diana (Shor) and teams up with her new co-worker and fellow 20-something Kelsey (Duff) to make it in the career of her dreams.

...I'm an adult

So, if you read my blog, you know that I have a son... I make sure he does his home work,  basically keep him alive every day, I have owned property, been married and am steadily approaching 40.  One would think that sometime during all of that I would have felt like an adult, but alas until just recently when I glanced down to find myself in seasonably appropriate attire I had the realization that I have just NOW become an adult.

Remember those days when you were a slave to fashion?  Who cared if it was down right arctic outside, if a blazer was the only fashionable choice for outerwear, then I wore a blazer.  And let's not even discuss footwear!  I would slip and slide in heels all over ice like Bambi rather than wear a warm, practical boot!  I would actually have rather stayed in, than wear a coat and snow boots.  

So when did it become so damn cute to look all outdoorsy and winter-y?  Is it that I am totally old, or is lumberjack, outdoorsy chic totally cool (Please don't answer the old question!)?

The best laid plans of mice and men often go awry...

Oh good morning Lovelies!  

So we are mid week, the first week of January of this new year and I already want to press the re-do button!  At the end of the year I had a small list of things I want to work on.  I made my resolutions, I posted about them, assuming this, 2016 was going to be my year.  One resolution I made was to not get involved in others issues, if it doesn't involve me, it doesn't concern me. One thing I should have added to my resolutions list is; The actions of others will not get me down. I am my own person and I only have control over myself and my actions.  However, when someone acts selfishly over and over again and it directly impacts my life, it does concern me. Actually, it doesn't just concern me... It makes me very, very angry, infuriates me.  I can not for the life of me understand how some people are so self absorbed, that they care little to nothing about anyone else.  Not their loved ones, not their children, only themselves and what is best (or what they think is best) for them, at that very moment. Never ever thinking about repercussions or consequences of their actions.  I am not a pushover, but I have always been the type to give someone the benefit of the doubt, and way more chances than they deserve.  But every time they behave badly it surprises me all over again, like it is the first time.  

So this first week is a mulligan and is not to be counted.  I will continue to forgive, because holding onto anger and resentment is only harmful to myself, but I will be better at not forgetting. 

So here's to a re-start of 2016!

And I'm feeling good...

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!! The past two weeks have been such a whirlwind!  With the Holidays, winter break, short work weeks... I feel like I have been stuck in a time warp. I love spending time with my son, and enjoying family time, but sometimes there is comfort in our regular schedule.  

I work with almost all men... men that work in outside line construction.  They love to ball bust if you will. It is what they do all day, every day to one another, and often times I do not go unscathed. They love to comment on my hair, what I wear, my shoe choices, what I eat, etc. I actually find it funny, it's like a right of passage, and I give it right back to them.  Anyway, on this mild day when I chose to feel cozy in this cape, I just knew I would get a good ribbing.  Shockingly when entering my work place there were things to discuss work related and I made it to my desk comment free.   I had done it!  I settled in to face the day with a perception of being in the clear when moments later one of my coworkers shot around the corner, hands like guns whistling the Good, the bad, and the ugly theme.  Laughing heartily, he got me!
