Good morning lovelies!

I hope you all had a wonderful weekend.  Since last Thursday I have been rehearsing, performing and behind the scenes at dance shows.  While it was such a blast, I unfortunately was unable to enjoy the heat wave we have been having. Just my luck. 

There are so many fun trends for this Summer. As you know pom poms and tassels are going nowhere, off the shoulder and cold shoulder tops burst on the scene last year and seem to be more popular than ever.  Palm print made it's debut a few seasons ago and is more popular than ever, but joining the ranks of fun prints this season are pineapples, watermelons and cactus. I have never been a girl to shy away from trends, but I like to be practical and recognize trends can go in and out very quickly.  While I will spend money on classic items I like to be frugal on trendy pieces. Old Navy makes it so easy to dress on trend and not  break the bank.  These linen palm print shorts are my absolute fave, and who can resist and OTS chambray top?

Hey, and Happy Thursday! One more day before the weekend... Thank God!

My schedule has been absolutely chaotic recently. My son has had a playoff baseball game scheduled, rained out and rescheduled like 3 times this week already.  With playoff games, end of the year events (i.e. chorus concerts, insect fairs, field day, book fairs and school picnics) and a weekend jam packed with a cabaret I am performing in as well as the dress rehearsal and show for the girls I teach, I don't know which end is, up.  Although it is always fun to have a packed schedule and all of these events are awesome, I will be slightly relieved to see the end of this weekend.  

When I saw this dress (in the little girls section, don't judge) at Target, I needed to have it. Cat and Jack is such an adorable line at Target, I often get my son Cat and Jack clothing and often times I pick up a thing or two for me. You may remember my Valentine's Day look here.  That glitter and tulle skirt was also Cat and Jack and so cute!

Hey Loves! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! 

I had a great weekend with baseball playoff games, lots of dance rehearsal preparing for our shows next week, and finally having a day where I could purge my closet and get rid of a bunch of clutter. 

I love to get dressed up, and whenever I have an event I plan way a head of time.  I have never been the girl who wears very much athleisure wear, but as I have been dancing and teaching more I have found myself wearing way more leggings and workout wear well after I have concluded my workout or teaching for the day.  Most days, especially on weekends I dress somewhere in the middle.I love the term 'Off Duty' look. I like to think of an off duty look as, not completely dressed up and not completely dressed down, but casual for sure. 

The below look is a go to for me. I want to wear all of my sun dresses and rompers, but with the weather not fully cooperating as of yet, most days I am still wearing jeans and layers.

Good Morning and happy first day of June!! 

I hope you are all having a lovely week. 

I have been blogging for over three years, and while I occasionally talk about little glimpses of my life, I don't talk about all that much.  I am a very private person, and not for reasons you may think. It makes me feel uncomfortable. Too much talk about me and I get weird and fidgety, just ask my friend Lindsay. Let me preface this by saying, I think it is amazing when people can be so open and share all aspects of their lives, it is very brave.  When my marriage fell apart (2.5 years in the making), most of the people close to me had no clue until I finally left.  I mostly stay away from relationship talk or deep issues myself, family or friends are dealing with.  I don't post very many personal things on insta, I have never been 'married' or 'in a relationship' on social media.  I am not a millennial, I don't have to post it for the world to see in order for it to exist.  Does this make me an introvert?  How can this be, I have a blog!  While the S&S insta page is public, my personal page is private, as is my FB page.  I also find it strange to be like:

 'Don't you just love this gingham top, now let's talk about narcissistic personality disorder.'  

Well, that was a joke, but seriously! People come here to look at the latest trends, click on some links, shop a look and be on their way.   

Although, I am not talking about me personally here, today I will say...

Karma, do y'all believe in it?  Some don't, I do!  For no particular reason I have been thinking about it a lot recently.

We have all heard 'what goes around comes around' and my mom's favorite is 'water seeks it's own level'.  Often times we wish we could bear witness to other's comeuppance, particularly people who have wronged us.  Other times (and I am guilty) just wishing (and praying) for karma to finally catch up with people. I know I have been served a dish of karma in my life, I have recognized and used it as a tool in self reflection.

Often times karma is subtle and good, for example giving to a charity and then coming home and finding a little extra cash in a pocket.

...and sometimes 

You see, karma is wasted if you don't learn the lesson behind it.  But often times people who exhibit negative behaviors are not very self aware in the first place.  Instead of getting a severe case of 'poor me',  reflect on your behaviors of how careless you have been with others.  As my mom said the other day 'Don't create a storm and act surprised when it starts to rain.'

Life is all about learning and living your life to the best of your ability.   Being kind to others and not acting so egocentric, after all some people think the world revolves around them but in actuality we are all in this together.
