Happy Friday Eve!
A few things I am excited about:
This weekend we spring forward! While most people are bummed about the loss of sleep, that extra hour of sun is absolutely worth it! I celebrate every year and truly believe it should be a holiday.
Yesterday was Ash Wednesday, which means for those who are Christian it is the beginning of the Lenten season. From it's start on Ash Wednesday until its conclusion East Sunday, Lent has been a traditional time for fasting or giving something up or abstinence.
People observe Lent in many different ways. Some stay away from a 'luxury', give something up or practice an act of service. In the past, I have given up french fries, soda, peanut butter, etc. This year I have decided to get off Facebook. Not that I am a constant poster, but for me it is a time suck. I can spend hours in a rabbit hole of scrolling through other's posts, 'liking' and or commenting.
I am also going to try a challenge of taking one item out of my closet or dresser for every day of Lent and donate it to the needy in the end. Will I have 40 items? I guess we will find out.
The last thing I am excited about is St. Patrick's Day!
For the last six years my coworkers and I have had a tradition of celebrating St. Pats. We all get super festive and head out to a fun Pub. My mom usually prepares a corn beef on the Sunday closest to March 17th. How fortuitous that it falls on a Sunday this year!
I usually start off our festivities with a subtle look, by the end of our day, I can't promise you I won't be wearing a top hat and green plastic beads. All in good fun, right?
This sweater has been a winter favorite of mine, off the shoulder, dolman sleeve and perfect for the occasion.
What are you excited about?
xx, Elise
